Journalists: this is for your eyes only…

River NEWS is a communications agency working to both regional and national story briefs.

We write web content, stories for journalists and provide interview guests for radio and TV programmes.

We enjoy working with journalists because we’re journalists ourselves – we understand your needs and deadlines, that’s what makes us different…

No spin here…
PR without the spin...

PR without the spin…

Real PEOPLE, real STORIES is our mantra.  We don’t deal in cheap plugs and PR puffs.

And we won’t get in the way – our goal is to connect journalist and spokesperson as soon as practical and then to step out of the picture unless needed.

Please feel confident to add us to your trusted news sources and be assured that you will be always looked after by someone who understands your needs and deadlines.

All we ask in return is that you treat us with professional courtesy. We will understand if you have to drop a story or an interview but please tell us, we like to know outcomes so we ask that you keep us in the loop, and please be kind enough to let us know if we’ve served you well or if there are things we can do better.

He who must be obeyed…

River NEWS boss Ian McGregor cut his teeth in one of the toughest media relations jobs in the business – as spokesperson for the rail industry. He later worked as a producer and presenter with BBC Radio Five Live, ITN News Direct and BBC local radio. He once had the joy of grilling his old boss in a radio ‘phone-in:

“My two careers came together in a bizarre way when my former boss appeared as a guest on a consumer call in I was hosting. It felt strange to be asking him the questions when just weeks earlier I would have been advising him how to answer them!”
